Information we process
Plan content
When you capture a photo, screenshot, voice note or typed plan, its contents are transmitted once to Google’s Gemini AI to be interpreted and returned as structured events. The request is routed through Ink2Cal’s relay server, which we operate on Cloudflare, so our AI credentials remain confidential and usage allowances can be enforced.
The relay receives your plan only to forward it to Google and return the result. It passes through in transit and is not written to a database, file or log on our servers. Google’s processing is governed by the Gemini API terms. Ink2Cal uses the paid service, under which submitted content is not used to improve Google’s products. Voice notes are transcribed on your device; only the resulting text is transmitted. An internet connection is required for this step.
Device identifier and usage counts
To enforce free and subscription allowances and protect the service from abuse, our relay stores a per-application device identifier derived from the operating system’s app-scoped device identifier, together with usage counts and their dates. It is specific to your installation, is not shared with third parties and is used only to apply your allowance and maintain service integrity.
Subscription verification
If you purchase Ink2Cal Pro, the Google Play purchase token for your subscription is transmitted to our relay so the subscription can be verified with Google and the corresponding features enabled. We do not receive or store your payment details; payments are handled by Google Play.
Calendar entries you confirm
With your permission, Ink2Cal writes the events you approve to a calendar you select on your device. Ink2Cal does not read, upload or store your existing calendar entries.
On-device data
Your learned vocabulary, calendar and reminder preferences, plan history and local usage count are stored only on your device and are removed when the app is uninstalled.
Permissions
- Camera — to photograph a plan, used only while scanning.
- Microphone — to capture a voice note, which is transcribed on your device, used only while recording.
- Calendar — to list your calendars and add the events you confirm.
- Notifications — to deliver the reminders you set.
Third-party services
- Google Gemini API interprets captured plan content through our relay.
- Cloudflare hosts the relay server and helps enforce usage allowances.
- Google Play Billing processes subscription purchases.
Ink2Cal contains no advertising, third-party analytics or cross-app tracking software.
Data retention
The contents of your plans are not written to a database, file or log on our servers; they pass through the relay in transit only. The app-scoped device identifier and usage counts used to enforce your allowance—and, if you subscribe, the record used to recognise an active subscription—are not linked to your name, email or account. Uninstalling the app removes all data held on your device.
Children
Ink2Cal is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. The app has no user accounts and does not retain the content of plans. A parent or guardian with a concern may contact us using the address below.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
